TESTIMONIALS

On Panels

I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Jen Tidwell at Earper Homestead Convention Canada in 2018 and 2019. Jen was the moderator for the Fan Fiction panel both years and they hosted the Newlyweds Game panel in 2019 - the latter of which turned out to be the most popular panel (a full house of attendees and over 102K views on YouTube as of May, 2020). Leading into every panel, Jen coordinated with the guests and the convention organizers to ensure that everything would run smoothly. During the panels, Jen was engaging with all those in attendance, and they did a great job facilitating discussion. It was a delight to work with Jen, as they were organized, competent, and dependable. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Jen's knowledge of Wynonna Earp, as well as her clear and resolute understanding of the separation of actor and character, was part of what made The Newlywed Game one of my all-time favorite Earp panels.

Her confidence and innate talent behind the microphone radiated out to the actors and put them more at ease with the creative, new panel style.  She guided Justin, Varun, Kat, and Dom through meticulously planned (and hysterically UNplanned) double entendres and leading questions which delighted both panel and audience alike.

Panels can be anxiety provoking, especially for new panelists, but Jen’s intelligent questions, open personality, and effortless control make her, in my opinion, the triple threat of what she does. As a moderator, she toes the line between panel participant and friendly guide. ...she knows when to ask the tough questions and how to encourage further discussion without ever being intrusive. She exudes confidence and warmth – the audience is her friend and her classroom. Basically, Jen knows what she’s doing and we’re all the better for it!

Jen was attuned to us as panelists, structuring the discussion and flow to make sure we all got a chance to express ourselves while still ensuring we stayed on course. Jen is quick witted, kind and endlessly able to make even the most anxious panelist feel both comfortable and seen, bringing out the best in us. ... I felt encouraged and supported to be vulnerable about their questions. [The experience was] driven by Jen's vibrancy as a host & her attention to each detail. I'd be on another of her panels in a heartbeat.

Jen is an insightful, thorough moderator. No stone is left unturned with her and it leaves the watcher feeling completely satisfied in the end. I’ve had the honor of being interviewed by her several times, as well as being a consistent listener to her podcasts, and with each interview she brings a level of comfort that is unparalleled. The interviewee feels right at home immediately. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

[Jen] was an absolute professional who carefully took the time setup and set an expectation for the next hour of our time together. I was very impressed when she subtly (and smartly) lightened the mood to calm my slight nerves before pressing the Record button. Knowing Jen, I shouldn’t have been at all surprised by her continuously brilliant questions, competent follow-ups to my more unexpected answers, and inherent ability to keep the conversation flowing easily and naturally.

I absolutely loved being a guest on Earp Fiction Addiction. Jen, the host, was warm and friendly from the start, and was very clear about how the whole process would work. When it came time to record, I didn’t have to worry. Everyone involved in the episode jumped right in and chatted like old fandom friends. I’m a big fan now, and I would appear on the podcast again in a heartbeat.

I was a little nervous before my first recording of the EFA podcast, but Jen did such a wonderful job of making it so easy for me, it was completely stressfree once I knew how it was all going to work....establishing rapport and making me feel like I was chatting with friends, and not recording a podcast for however many people to listen to! Jen was so organised and even managed to accommodate some last minute time adjustments on my part....Thanks so much for making it so much fun!

I enjoy this podcast tremendously, to the point that I look forward to Mondays. Your witty conversations keep me smiling and engaged. There is just the right balance of thoughtful insights into the stories and welcoming humor. Listening to the podcast feels like sitting down with friends at a dinner party.
